Who would have thought that after five rounds the Raiders would be sitting third on the ladder? Last night, with their gun halves Aiden Sezer and Blake Austin back, they looked sharp, enthusiastic and efficient in all aspects of their game and ran all over the Bulldogs at Belmore.

Having a balanced team is essential for success. This balance needs to complement and assist each other in attack and defence. From the brutality of Papalli, Vaughan, Boyd and Leilua, the class of Sezer and Austin, the flair of Moylan, Edrick Lee and Jason Crocker, it looks as if the Raiders have that well-balanced team to do this.

Most teams generally don’t look forward to the trip to the capital, especially in winter. But the way Ricky Stuart has his men firing, there will be a lot more trepidation when travelling down the Federal Highway.
