A visit to John Hooper on the Sunshine Coast

Sunshine Coast Committee Wellbeing Officer Mick Legg and President Don Oxenham recently visited John Hooper in hospital. John has been unwell and has spent time recovering.

He played junior rugby league with the Sydney Roosters and played reserve grade in later years. His wife Joan has been a lifelong Western Suburbs supporter and John has come to support the club as well.

John thoroughly enjoyed speaking with Mick and Don about the good old days of rugby league. The Men of League Foundation supports the rugby league community through wellbeing visits to past players, administrators, referees and volunteers across all affiliated levels of the game to help prevent social isolation.
