A wellbeing visit for former Collegians Illawarra player Geoff Hall

On Monday 24 April, a wellbeing visit was made to Geoff Hall at Mayflower Village in Gerringong. Geoff was originally from Yass where he played rugby league at a young age. As a 16 year old, he carried the Olympic Torch through Yass on its way to Melbourne in 1956.

In 1963, he transferred to Collegians Illawarra and also played with Corrimal Illawarra and Gerringong Group 7. Former teammates of Geoff’s, including Peter Bell, Les Hanigan and Cliff Roberts, accompanied Ted Fitzgerald on the visit.

Geoff is suffering from Parkinson’s disease and his wife is also undergoing treatment for cancer. The men presented Geoff with a Men of League Foundation polo and cap and the Collegians also sent a polo for him.

Although not in good health, he knew us all and the visit seemed to give him a boost. We wish him all the best.
