Recently, the Men of League Foundation Northern Sydney Committee held their sixth Annual Awards Event at which 14 nominated volunteers from the various junior rugby league clubs in the Manly Warringah Junior Rugby League district were honoured. Once again, the presentation of our trophies to each successful volunteer occurred in conjunction with the 2018 Manly Warringah Junior Rugby League annual presentation event and we thank the junior league executive for their invitation and continued generosity.
The Ffunction room at the Manly Leagues Club was decorated splendidly with over 150 persons in attendance to enjoy the evening and present a united and coordinated commitment to the continued growth of junior rugby league in the Manly Warringah District. The successful volunteers were:
Haereora Harihari – Manly Cove
Trent McCann – Christian Brothers Manly
Chris Crotty – North Curl Curl Knights
Rod Roberts – Forestville Ferrets
John Lee – Valley United Spartans
Anthony Collins – Avalon Bulldogs
Briohney Anderson – Belrose Eagles
Steve Hoy – Cromer Kingfishers
Elton McKay – Harbord United Devils
Mitch Murphy – Mona Vale Raiders
Francesca Dolly – Narrabeen Sharks
Joe Iemma – Narraweena Hawks
Michael Bendall – Beacon Hill Bears
John Fox – Manly Warringah Junior Rugby League District Volunteer of 2018.
It was a real pleasure to see the shock & delight on the faces of the successful nominees as their names were announced and their specially designed Men of League Foundation trophies were presented to them by Trevor Bailey, President of the Northern Sydney Committee. Cliff Lyons, ex-Sea Eagles legend and Australian representative presented John Fox with his special award volunteer of the year award.
Once again, this event forges greater connections with the caretakers of our great game, the junior rugby league clubs officials, players and supporters and expands our district activities in caring for all members of the rugby league community who are experiencing difficult times.
