As part of a new initiative, each month we will be featuring a member who has shown outstanding generosity, compassion and commitment to the Foundation.
Last month our ‘Member of the Month’ was Central Coast Committee member, Les Pearce. You can read more about Les’ contributions here.
This month, we are honoured to highlight twin brothers Andrew and Neale O’Brien from our Toowoomba Region Committee.
The brothers were nominated by fellow committee member, Terry Tate, for the huge effort they make for the Foundation and their respective communities.
The O’Brien brothers have been proud members of the Foundation for over ten years. They first became involved with the Foundation to give back to the game that provided their family so much.
Andrew and Neale have spent a huge number of hours visiting those who have fallen on hardship. When speaking to the brothers, they said “there is no greater satisfaction than paying a visit and lifting the spirit of someone who needs it most.”
The brothers then went on to share their most memorable stories with the Foundation. For Andrew, it was his recent visit to Dee Stevens, where he was able to provide a boost to Dee and her family after the unfortunate passing of her husband. For Neale, it was the time the Foundation provided relief and assistance to those affected by the Queensland flood.
