2014: Blues Win Origin

2014 State of Origin was a great relief to New South Wales fans, with the NSW Blues snapping Queensland’s record breaking eight-year victory streak. With a 12-8 victory in the first game at Suncorp Stadium and Queensland’s Cooper Cronk being absent from the rest of the series after breaking his arm, the stage was set for the Blues to clinch the series at Game 2 in ANZ Stadium, Sydney. The Blues would provide the relief an entire state was waiting for with a 6-4 win, giving QLD their first tryless defeat since 1999.
