2005: Tigers v Cowboys – Marshall Magic

The step, the sprint, the flick pass. It was the grand final moment which kids in backyards would play out for years to come. For Benji Marshall, it was just another day in the office.

With a first ever grand final appearance for both sides, some early nerves from both sides were overshadowed by some Benji Marshall brilliance in the 35th minute, producing one of the greatest grand final passes in history which lead to Pat Richards barging over.

The Tigers continued to carry the momentum after coming out of the sheds 12-6 up, extending the deficit to 12 points. A late rally from the Cowboys wasn’t enough to overcome the Tigers might, as the merger club claimed its first premiership.
